Onion skinning with captured images

Is there a way to use the lighttable/onionskinning with captured images? This would be useful for doing stop-motion with TVP.

I'm not sure to get what you mean by "captured the image" .
if the image is already "captured", and if you have set the capture option to "append",
the standard LightTable should work as with any other (hand-drawn) frame in an animlayer.

if you meant "not already captured", or basically a Preview of the next picture ready to be captured,
you can do that with the videograbber : set View/Display with Video =ON, and use the mix level (%)
in the VideoGrabber panel.

I'm talking about both, actually, using the video grabber. I tried those settings yesterday but they didn't seem to work. I'm not using the Canon plugin, just the video grabber with a USB webcam.

Edit: I got it now, I didn't have the 'V' button enabled.

I used to set temporarily the Opacity layer lower than 100% (50->70%),
to help the visibility of the previous frame(s) when the LightTable is ON.

That was the other problem I had, my layer opacity needed to be lower. It's working great now! Thanks! Who needs Stop Motion Pro????

well, the usb webcams are good enough for test, or clip destinated
to the web, but their limited res. don't allow users to shoot in HD res. f.i.
for professional output.

so "who needs SMP ...? " : any one who haven't a Canon PowerShot camera.
(though, I didn't try a Digital Video camera via firewire port ...)

Yeah, I am just using webcam for testing position and motion... I am using a digital still camera for final capture.

I've tried DV camera with firewire, it works fine also.
