Tablet SubPixel on Mac

Post by Zaush »

I could be missing something important here, but it appears there is no SubPixel option on the Mac version of TVPaint. I've been using TVPaint on Windows, and this global feature is indispensable for drawing cleanly inked lines. Is this a difficult feature to integrate on the Mac platform?

Hi Adam and welcome here.
The Mac version is "subpixel" and don't need a special option

This feature is in the mac version without the need to enable it? I didn't know this... Thanks for the clarification!

This is because on some tablets (particularly those integrated in tabletPCs),
the subpixels don't work with windows.
So we had to put an option to disable it when it doesn't work in windows.
On MacOSX it always works (up to now).
Quicktime is DEAD. Get over it and move on !

I'd been a little suspicious when tinkering with the program on a Mac, as the lines exhibited more of the "snap to nearest pixel" wobble at 100% zoom, that I only got when working with a PC that had subpixel disabled. I suppose there are many factors that could be at play, including interference or magnetic radiation that affects the stability of the tablet's digitizer... I'll keep looking into other suspicions to rule out for this different behavior.
