I haven't read the synopsis, by only watching your four clips/trailers:

First thought was this is for big projection on the Love Parade.

How did you get the music-rights ??

I am also irritated by films that use music which doesn't belong to them, whether the films are sold in public or not (for instance in better schools, students are strictly forbidden from this practice even in their classroom exercises). The problem is that when people do this sort of thing, they unfairly position themselves ahead of those who remain unscrupulously honest. Stealing is simple to define and to lift music without the composer's permission to make one's own work look better is just plain stealing.

a lot of my friends did the same thing , but yes i should not use these musics with my movies , but i never said that the music was from mine.
every time if i don't forget i say that before download:
"the music comes from ...ect etc"

for my animation 2d degree in 2007 i used a commercial music like most of all of my friends.
a composer will give me some songs for my final movie ^__^

airman, it's simply illegal to steal any creation and publish it on (,youtube, awn-animation, myToons..., also the same with official show-reels btw.) even for students.
It's allowed to publish in school-ennvironment, such is an intern show case in their rooms (without making money with it).
BTW how would you feel if I take your clips with changing the music from Janet Jackson to e.g. Scooter and take my name in front of it and without asking giving it to aniboom ?

I am associated with three art schools here; University of Pennsylvania, University of the Arts, and Drexel University; none of these schools permit the use of unauthorized music in classrooms or anywhere else.

The reasons are all the obvious ones, all strictly inforced for educational purposes, but also it is designed to give animation students the incentive to practice collaboration with students from the Music Departments.

If I may, there are good news for you:

- free music loops on the net
-free midi files on the net. With a little knowledge of a music-app (Magix Music Maker...) you can edit them as you like
- ask some young composers and/or musicians from your art school. Most the times they are happy to make the music or soundtrack for a film. And sometimes they do it for free, or for just having their names on the credits.
-ask some professional for a special price.
-or get the rights of some pieces, sometimes they don't charge for it if they like your film.

Paul, that's the way we are also willing to go with our students ( since we have a new audio-lab). But they also have to learn the legal requirements in a special seminar.
