to resume, Raid 0 if you want velocity, Raid 1 if you are looking for security.
note if you have a chipset Intel ICH8R or ICH9R, you will have the ability
to install 2 different Raid on the same group of HDs (2 or more),
Image
f.i. :
2x HD 250 Go => 500 Go
2 partitions :
- Data = 2x 200 = 400 Go in Raid 0 (stripping)
- System = 2x 50 = 50 Go in Raid 1 (mirroring)

an other exemple below, with 3 HDs 300 Go each, and 2 partitions,
one in Raid 0, the other in Raid 5 (stripping with parity).

I guess I haven't more to say :)

Just that the Core2Quad seems to become cheap enough to beat the Core2Duo in the perf/price ratio.

I don't know the "Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 3000", but TVPaint works very well with the integrated "Intel MGA950" on the MacBook Pro.

Want I meant by "WILL have to change in two years", two years ago we had Pentium IV with Hyperthreading, now we have Core2Quad, in two years ???
Quicktime is DEAD. Get over it and move on !
