Please remove the default auto-naming during Export

The default auto-naming in the export panel is driving me nuts! Each time I open a new shot I have to edit the name during export (remove the Cip_001 from the end). All I need is the export file name to be exactly the same as the tvp file. That's it. If I ever need to save a different name, I can do it myself. Why did it change in the recent versions? Was there a feature request? I remember there was a discussion about it, but I cannot find it...

@Soom was this ever addressed? I came here because I was curious if there was a way to turn it off...when I split clips and export I end up with some crazy long names I wasn't looking for!

splitting clips and naming them automatically might be related to another problem discussed quite a lot on the forums - here is one of the discussions: https://www.tvpaint.com/forum/viewtopic ... ps#p131747 - I don't think this was ever solved. what I do is first run a renaming script by Mads Juul: https://www.tvpaint.com/forum/viewtopic ... ame#p47609 and then export. I don't think this issue was ever fixed

Thanks @Soom! When you've used this software for a very long time, some of the changes feel like improvements, and some feel like someone's rearranged my furniture without telling me I'll adjust sooner or later, I suppose.

The path TVPaint suggest has always driven me nuts too. My custom panel has a render button that fixes this problem for me. You have to follow my naming conventions though. But it saves a lot of time because it will always render the shot the the location you expect and overwrites it. Jpg en png only. It supports separate sequences for color groups too. For compositing purposes.

Indeed, yes, Mads Juul's clip renamer script is the only practical solution. Mads' renamer script parameters should be programmed in to TVPaint by default rather than being an extra script that must be installed , because many users will never know of the existence of Mads' script. It should just be the default behavior of TVPaint when batch renaming clips.
