Hi,

I know you can set a layer to mask another while painting, but is there a function where you can set a layer to mask teh below one permanent like you can do in photoshop or Clup studio paint. I haven´t seen this function and I dont think it´s possible but I want to ask if I have missed it.

Do you mean like a clipping mask in Photoshop ? Unfortunately , no, that is not a feature in TVPaint. It's been requested before and at one time it was said to be on the developer's To-Do List, but that was a long time ago and I have no idea what the current status is.

Thanks,
Yes, clipping mask
Then I got that confirmed.
Yes it´s useful feature. In Clip Studio Paint you can have folders with clipping masks to so it could be used on groups etc.

Hope it will come in a future version.

This is what we requested as a request for (14) in our studio, which we have been using since 2015.
I probably requested it early in version 11.0, but it's still not resolved.
There is a similar function in destructive editing in the FX stack, so it seems to be later as a priority.

You have a great list there.
Have to read it all and I might find features I did not know of yet.
Hoping for the clipping mask feature.
