Hi, I just installed 11.7.1 and now I can't populate my colour groups panel with any other colours. It only has the "Edit" button which only allows you to rename etc.
Before there was a button to add more groups.
How do I do this now?

I believe this change occurred in version 11.7 . I'm not entirely sure why the option to Add colors or to Show All colors in the list was removed.

As it is now , when you open a new project there are no color groups populating the Color Groups list . You have to first add a layer and assign a color group to that layer before the color will show up in the Color Groups list. As you continue to add more layers and assign a color to that layer it will then show up on the Color Groups list.

I can't find that this change was documented in the Change Log for 11.7 .


Before , in version 11.5.3 and preceding versions, there was the option to Show All in the Color Groups list.
This was removed starting with version 11.7.

You could have only a few colors showing on the List , like this example below,
but at any time you could click on the List button and add more colors or add All .

I can't remember the reason given for making this change. (the Change Log for 11.7 does not mention it.) I think it was better the way it was before in 11.5.

Hi DT, yes but I can't find a way to actually assign a colour to a new layer. I have loads of layers and they're all grey. There's no option if you right click or in the menu at the top...
Yes it was definitely better the way it was before.
I'm actually a bit worried now because I use colour groups extensively in my projects... will this be fixed?

To assign a color to a layer , click the little "tag" icon at the left side of the layer. Then select the color from the menu to assign to that layer.
