It seems odd that in order to do this, you have to go back to Project view, switch to Timeline View, and then click Split Clip. I'd love to be able to do this from the Clip view. It would save several redundant steps.

In Clip view advance to the frame where you want to split the clip. Then from Clip Menu at the top choose Split Clip
(I have mine set to keyboard shortcut S)
