Dot appears at beginning of brush strokes?

Hey all, been having this issue for a while now and I'm stumped.

Whenever I use the brush tool to draw, every other line starts with a small half-opacity circle. I've attached an image of whats going on below.
I don't know why this is happening and have tried various methods to get it to stop including restarting pc, restarting wacom, fiddling with pen settings etc.
I have to keep going back through my lineart in order to clean up the lines by erasing them manually.

Any tips?

Hello,

Could you please tell me which TVPaint version you're using? I would also need to know your operating system as well as your graphics tablet model and drivers version.

Also, are you using a custom brush? If so, sharing it with me within a .tvpx custom panel would help.

Hi Matthieu,

I'm using TVPaint Animation 11 Pro STD (11.5.1-64bits)
My Tablet is a Cintiq 13 screen tablet, Wacom, driver version is 6.3.44-3.
I use Windows 10 currently, and I'm using the standard pencil brush.

Hi, same as here I think : viewtopic.php?f=10&t=14692

We need the time to figure out, if it's related to the Wacom hardware/drivers and if we can workaround this in TVPaint.

Hi ttrangmar,

Thank you for this information.

Could you please try to reset your Wacom driver's pressure profile settings, like Gerhard did in the above topic mentioned by Xavier?

Let us know if this changes anything.

Hey all,

I reset the wacom tablet pressure and it didn't fix it, however it does stop if I change the pen's pressure profile directly in TVPaint. However this messed up the brush quality as I adjusted it to get specific pen tip.

I tell a lie- it was a temporary fix, and has since returned to making the little dot again.

Does it happen with every brush tool, or only with some?

From what I can tell, only the pencil tool causes this issue.

Is it the default pencil tool or another custom made one?

Its the standard pencil brush with a minor adjustment to the pressure curve.

Would it be possible to export it as a new tool and send me the TVPX?
