How to export / print a Storyboard from the Project tab

Post by Elodie »

Hi everybody,

This tutorial will just inform you about how export and print your storyboard (If you want more informations about he project tab, please download the Appendix). Keep in mind you cannot directly print the storyboard. You must first create a .html file. Then you will open it with your web navigator and print it. Feel free to download this example to make your own test : http://www.tvpaint.com/forum_attachment ... oard2.tvpp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Export your storyboard in order to print it :

To print your storyboard, please open “File => Export a storyboard”. A window appears : here you can choose how your storyboard will be printed (vertically, horizontally, in thumbnails, with action notes, dialog...). Feel free to add a logo, a special name etc... To modify these parameters, click on the "..." icon :

As you can see, there are 3 default view : an Occidental view (with column), a Japanese view (with strips) and a thumbnail view. You can choose the three (so, you will export three different views), or only choose one (in that case, the Occidental view). You can modify those default views (by clicking on the "..." icon) or create another one (by clicking on "Add a new style"). When you will modify or create another view, this window will appear :

Into this window, you can :

-name the style (you can save several styles)
-choose the orientation : vertical (occidental way) or horizontal (oriental way)
-choose the separation when using vertical mode : without separation (like a traditional storyboard), with one clip by line or an entire scene by line (limited to the print format)

Then, you can define the other options will be printed or not :
-name and informations
-the thumbnails' size
-the camera's path
-which point of view you want (camera or project)
-and which comments you need (action, dialog, notes, all of them, none of them or just some of them).

When your settings are okay, choose where your .html file will be save into the browser. And then, export it.

When your .html file has been created, open it with your web navigator (Firefox, Internet Explorer...)

If you've exported your storyboard with several views, you will have a similar web page : http://www.tvpaint.com/forum_attachment ... oard2.html

If you have chosen only one view, you will directly have the page with the view. For example, this one : http://www.tvpaint.com/forum_attachment ... ental.html

Now, you have several solutions :
-Print your storyboard as a .pdf with PDF Creator : http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
-Print it on paper with your printer =)

Enjoy your TVP Animation 9.5 ! :D
