mirage 'expired' (not), sentinel driver Q

Post by CharlieC »

hi-
searched posts, but i have add'l question.

still using both tvp and mirage. now mirage says 'demo expired'. read the posts and tried repair permissions; no luck. i'm unsure about reinstalling the sentinel driver, if that is indeed the problem, so both tvp and mirage can work. i only have the old mirage cd; tvp i downloaded. i'm on mac 10.5.6

thanks,
charlie

This should be fixed with typing in your code again. You surely have the code, have you? I wrote mine on the CD.
TVP 10.0.18 and 11.0 MacPro Quadcore 3GHz 16GB OS 10.6.8 Quicktime 7.6.6
TVP 11.0 and 11.7 MacPro 12core 3GHz 32GB OS 10.11 Quicktime 10.7.3

in my circumstance, i get the 'demo' window with the 'config' and 'proj properties' choices; no place to enter a code. so i hit' ok' and i get the 'expired/ok' window. i think it's a driver thing, but i'm waiting to hear back for details on that.

btw- i remember your'e on a mac; have you been able to translate all these 'pc' instructions for content sharing? they've been hit and miss for me in the past. i'm finally getting around to reading all the 'topic's on that page, the 'grg' chapter in the manual, and then i'll be trying to build up a nice set of tools and such.

also, checked out your nice chalk effect; that'll be one i'd like to use for sure.

*sigh*, I just had the same problem with a 70-years-old woman : She tried to install her Mirage on her new mac (but it couldn't work, because she's got a mac intel), so she tried on her PC, and it didn't work too.

So, questions :

-Have you got a Mac intel ? (If it is, Mirage can't work)
-Have you updated the sentinelle drivers here ?

well, i do have an 'intel core 2 duo' mac, so does that make the newest driver unnecessary in regards to mirage?

i've been working on both my new intel and my old mac, and i could've sworn i had mirage working on the new intel. hmmm.

i guess i should still have the latest, for tvp. looks like i have sentinel driver 7.3.0, and the latest is 7.3.0.3 online.

curious if there are any special instructions in downloading the new driver; i read somewhere to unplug the dongle during.

it won't override any preferences, or do anything to avoid, i don't suppose?

thanks for the advice,
charlie

If you've got a Mac Intel, uninstall Mirage, because Mirage can't work on Mac Intel. So, it's not necessary to update your sentinelle driver : Mirage still won't work.

well it does not work on intel macs - I have my mirage on my tablet pc and I love it, so finally being hardcore oppositions' I bought a Tv paint for my mac so I could use it, sound like the only way, still dont believe it is such hard coding issue to make it work on a intel...but hey ...but thats why most of progs on pc are open source.. can not pay twice
