Post by jankaltor »

hi everybody

i have just built my website and i put my first animation project (using tv paint technology) on it at the following adress :
http://toma100s.info/jankaltor/animation-soliste.html

sound work is not finished yet, but you'll see at least what it looks like now !!
I will submit a new subject as soon as it's finish !
I hope to have commentaries from all over the world thanks to tv paint community, so don't forget to give you're opinion on it !!

...
and it looks beautiful!
Great work, i love the atmosphere you put into it
you created beautiful graphic backgrounds i love them. very nice how you handled the black and white.
About the animation i am a bit more ambivalent, some parts are very detailed and smooth, like the smoke or ripples in the coffee, but other parts like a character turning its head is very rough, for me this was a bit distracting.
also i didn't get all of the story, part of the problem here is off course the unfinished sound. But for instance the part before everything turns to color(brown) where he has this last meeting with his commissioner, was that just in his imagination?

last point.. a little guess, the second time in the cafe there is a guy eating a sandwich ...is that you?

you got it !! it was just his imagination, and that's why he finally goes drinking his coffe.
it was hard to make this being understood by "everybody". we got few problems to make this the more evident for watchers...
with the dialogs, it will more easy to understand.

for info, the commissioner first says :
(i apologize for the rough translation, but english not my natural language !!)
"-got any problems ??

and last says
-is everything good ?
killer says
-no
-we don't really appreciate to be late...
killer drinks coffe
and barmaid says
-excuse me, we have to close.. can you pay now ?
and :
-why do you get each time two caffees, and you drink only one ???
-if you're waiting for a girl, you should find someone else !!
and then image turns into brown.

I'm okay with animation critics, it's pretty true i guess for an expert eyes !
i had to do do this pretty fast, for school exams...
but this is my first animation project, it will goes better on the next one !!

p.s : and well seen for the man eating sandwich ; but it's not me, it's my friend justin ! ( and you'll see vincent walking at film end, in the background ;-) )

he is a true 'soliste'....in retrospect the title had already explained it.

I like it too and the last dialogue (barmaid) would be perfect with its 'final twist' :D
Is it really your first anim project using TVPaint?
