tvpaint crashes

The scenes that I work on are very big (3,5 gigabytes), because I work on film resolution with several layers, but still I think that TVpaint crashes way to much. At least twice a day, costing me hours of work.
Do you have advices for me (apart from saving every hour, which costs lots of time too)?
I work with 4 gig ram memory, so that can't be really the problem I guess.

Hisko,
Could you try to reduce the size of your cache memory (through the Preferences > Cache panel) to half of its current value ?
Windows has many more problem than the Macs to handle big projects like yours...
