Various stuff made with TVPaint

It seems that finally TVP has gained momentum enough that more films are made with it, without always pointing out "that exotic software" anymore. May we start a list with projects made with TVP?

EDIT: hm, those vimeo tags don't seem to work.

THX - did you use the "vimeo"-buttons of the forum or just pasted Vimeo's embed-code?

.

Actually I am glad that Cartoon Brew (and other blogs) will mention that a film was made using TVP. They do the same if a film is made using Flash or some other software : "So-and-so film made by Mr. Student X using Flash". So it is nice to see the same for TVP , just to get the word out .

I started a blog a while ago to collect projects made using TVP:

http://paperless-animation.blogspot.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The projects I've posted there are merely a representative sample of various films made using TVP, but by no means a complete list. I think your idea to have a thread here on the TVP Community Forum with a comprehensive listing of projects made using TVP is a good idea.

Not too shabby; a good story and pretty well told too. A couple of scenes were too quick and confusing but OK, the animator got away with it in a confusing moment of the story. For my taste the film would have profited from less run-of-the-mill characters to match the story better. I liked the TVP signature sketchy lines ( :) ) but would have preferred to have seen a more personal drawing style.

Thanks Slowtiger for those interesting videos.

We didn't see them yet, and it's a good surprise ! :)

I guess the school of "La Cambre" will have some other films made with TVPaint this school year 2010-2011, but I won't see them before september when visiting them.

(for rememberance, "La nuit de l'ours" was also made in La Cambre last year)

The animal seems to be completely detached from the live action background in many ways; weight, perspective, action (speed)... these aspects are very challenging to get right but if not perfect, the animation will always be wanting. There are only two ways to make animation work with live action and those are, spot on, or completely off. I see this as completely off because just a little off doesn't exist -- just a wee bit off is still completely off.

Here is a new film being made in TVPaint:

http://storyofanimation.blogspot.com/
"The Story of Animation’ is an informative film about using animation in business and corporate purposes, and in a simple way explains how cliens can use animation as a visual storyteller for their company.

The Story of Animation’ is an animated 3 min. short film directed by David Tart and produced at Tumblehead Animation Studio in Viborg, Denmark.
The story of Animation deals with the problems and questions that a possible client might have.

The film is therefore not about the history of animation, but shows the production process and the visual potential which animation films as a media contains. The film is targeted towards companies that might have an outdated view on animation as a communication form – a form that speaks to children only."
