Wondering has anybody used the Huion Kamvas 22 with TVPaint and whether it worked well with the software?

Post by tvpaint_harry »

So I'm seriously considering purchasing a Huion Kamvas 22 to use in TVPaint and I'm wondering has anybody used the Kamvas products with TVPaint and whether they ran into any issues? Or do they work seemlessly with the animation software?

I only ask because I don't want to spend half a grand on a Kamvas drawing tablet only to find out that there are significant glitches when using it with TVPaint.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Here's a discussion about Huion tablets used with TVPaint from 2015 -

https://tvpaint.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=124918

Keep in mind that this is for the version of the Huion tablet (and tablet drivers) available in 2015, so it may have improved since then (?).

However, someone recently posted to that thread in May 2021:

"I have new Huion tablet (Kamvas 22 Plus) and after a few days I am experiencing the same problem. My pen, even when I don't touch the screen is making small lines *hoovering around the surface), very annoying, if you have any suggestion please help. I tried unchecked and checked Windows ink, updated the driver ..., nothing really help."

There has also been some recent discussion on Cintiq Alternatives, here:

Instead of Huion , you might want to consider XP Pen ? XP Pen tech support told me:

"Yes, we are compatible with TVPaint Animation Pro, we've tested it on our end and we also have had a few users who also use this software with their XP-PEN Artist Display 24 Pro tablets."

I was thinking wanting to get a 4K Version Huion, https://www.amazon.com/HUION-Graphics-D ... 524&sr=8-3. It has a billion colors. And maybe some HDR?

was considering the 4k as well, but then I scrolled down a little from that link and saw this review. i can't confirm its legitness, but it has made me hold off a little longer lol
(i am really loving those small bezels though. i never used the wacom remote and so there's just a giant empty bezel on three sides of my cintiq that i don't have any use for. it just takes up so much more desk space)
