I want to learn about TVpaint, is there any course here where I can learn more?

Post by Jody Moran »

I've been learning Photoshop for about a year, but now I'm learning about TV Paint. This seems to be the right channel to share your dashboard, brush, paper and customization knowledge. I find it really interesting and useful. I don't know if there are any courses here to join. I want to know more about everything on the forum/ please give me some information

1.) Welcome to you, Jody. This forum has users who have a wealth of knowledge and experience about using TVPaint. So, please stick around and participate with us. Ask your questions and someone will chime in with tips and advice.

2.) For a structured course , Bloop Animation offers a 36-lesson course on animating with TVPaint. https://www.bloopanimation.com/tvpaint-animation/
They have posted three of the lessons for free on YouTube as a sample of the instruction you will receive in this course. (I purchased the entire course. I would recommend it)

PART 1 -

3.) Free video tutorials on TVPaint's YouTube Channel

4.) Intro to TVPaint tutorials by Aaron Blaise -

If you check out many of the livestreams that Aaron does on his YouTube channel you can watch him animate an entire scene in TVPaint for an hour or two hours at a time.
This is valuable , to watch a master animator at work. Start with these three:

PART 1 - Animating a "scribble pass" (rough)

PART 2 - Cleaning Up rough animation drawings

PART 3 - Inbetweening a Tied-Down Shot-

5.) Along the same lines, here is a 3-hour (!) video of master animator James Baxter animating a scene in TVPaint. It's like you're looking over his shoulder , watching him work.
