"Air Traffic Control" - animated painting

Hi TVPaint pals, I started a new project recently and did the first piece in the series using TVPaint, among other things. A few months ago I did a digital painting in Procreate on my iPad: https://zoepiel.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/ATC.jpg I wanted to make an animated version of the p...

Re: File size growing unusually large

Agreed on the need to down-res the animatic. Under 1080 should be fine. A short while ago I purchased the Bloop Animation tutorial series for TVPaint and one of the particularly useful sections of it was a guide to splitting your animatic.

Delightful! I hope you add some color to this. A little watercolor wash would be fitting, I think. :D

Re: Animation reel needs feedback :)

Hi Lam! I'm an independent weirdo with no studio experience so I can't speak to what studios might prefer or look for. However, here are my personal observations. First of all, there's some gorgeous work in there! However, the most common feature of the work in your reel is the lush painting and col...

Re: Various stuff made with TVPaint

https://www.facebook.com/effectefreak/videos/553657688333237/ Testing TVPaint. First question i've been asked if this is rotoscoped. It's not, just i'm a professional painter who got to world of animation not so long ago though I always wanted to. For me personally, the idea to paint entire sequenc...

Re: Is the Bloop Animation TVPaint course worth $67?

I purchased this tutorial set and found it VERY helpful, especially for understanding the Multiplane camera and some other aspects of TVP that I've never fully grasped. I've been using TVP for a number of years and still had plenty to learn from this series. The narration is clear and detailed, and ...

Re: keyboard replacement/additional hardware?

I'm a terrible packrat of digital gear. I have a ShuttlePro but I never really liked the feeling of using it. The ergonomics of the device never quite felt right to me, and the buttons always seemed rather stiff. However it's a powerful device with good software for mapping the various functions. I ...

Re: Framed Ink Marcos Mateu-Mestre BRUSHES

Framed Ink is a wonderful book! I believe you could accomplish anything in that book with the Pen brush in TVPaint. The aspect is about 50% (so it looks like a calligraphic nib instead of a circle), and the angle looks like 45 degrees. Turn off anti-aliasing and bind size to pressure. That's it! Th...

Re: Keyboard shortcuts on window 10 not responding

On Windows machines, there is an area in the lower right corner of the taskbar (bottom of the screen) called the tray: tray.PNG This shows what happens when I click on the upward-pointing arrow on the leftmost part of the tray: the little blue box pops up with more items that might be hidden from vi...

Re: Keyboard shortcuts on window 10 not responding

Check if there is another utility or application on your machine that is intercepting keyboard shortcuts. I have had this happen several times.
