Re: SLOCUM at sea with himself LAUNCHED

hey Paul,
I went to the site as soon as I saw this, but there's one image and it says "coming soon". Is that the way it's supposed to be?

Re: [MacOSX] Loss of quality with latest Yosemite update

It just occurred to me that it might also help to mention the reason why I never bothered to report the crashes: the connection of camcorder was a firewire 4pin (camera) to the firewire 9pin port of the computer. Since I learned from the use of dragon frame that even the length of the cable can inte...

Re: Instance naming convention in TVPaint vs Harmony

Actually the X-sheet (in version 10 at least) works the way you describe the Harmony X-sheet, unless I miss something (I don't know Harmony myself). I get the impression the X-sheet isn't awfully popular with most people, but I think depending on the project it can be more suitable, and to be able t...

Re: [MacOSX] Loss of quality with latest Yosemite update

If it helps to find the problem: when I used the video grabber with a canon camcorder some time ago this seemed to cause crashes every now and then, but I'm still running OSX 10.9.5, so it's maybe not a Yosemite thing.

Re: How do you delete an instance?

Not sure that it worked this way already in V9, but in 10 you can do that with the animator panel- the skull button of the instance menu deletes the current instance. You see, instances and exposures aren't the same thing. An instance can have more than one exposure, if you delete one of them, your ...

Re: Burning Big Fat Cat (wip)

These drawings look lovely. May I ask whether the car drivers for example were actually drawn on paper and scanned/shot or done digitally from scratch? The lines are so subtle and lively, and I'd love to know whether this can be achieved with TvPaint's tools.

Re: Converting QuickTime movie to alpha channels.

And the scan cleaner effect can be found in the FX stack under Add FX /Color. Also, if you want to keep the opaque white for what reason ever, you can lower the layer density and change the light table mode from "colour" or "gradient" to "none". This can be useful if yo...

Re: Linked Instances

I just thought I should mention the X-sheet anyway, because as wonderful as custom buttons and panels are, when working with one monitor it's nice to know how to achieve things with the functions of only a few panels also.

I believe David has new users in mind when he suggests start frame 1 to be the default setting.

Re: Linked Instances

You didn't mention whether you use the standard or professional edition, but if it's professional, you can also use the X-sheet. If you're not familiar with traditional animation on paper it might not be your cup of tea, though. Anyway, you do this by clicking the X-sheet tab on the timeline and cre...

Re: how to re-attach timeline and project panel?

Hey, thanks for you replies, and yes ZigOtto, the way you describe worked the same here on mac, so I got the panels back attached. However, by using (V) shortcut, the preview buttons under the project window are now hidden, whereas they used to be present in the original settings. habashtvpaint, you...

how to re-attach timeline and project panel?

hello everyone, most of the time I like best to work with the timeline magnetically attached to the project panel, so that when Auto fit (F) is switched on toggling the timeline pressing 0 will automatically zoom in and out the project window as it grows and shrinks to and from the space the timelin...

Re: Audio problem- Strange 'beat' sounds

i think the start frame can be altered in the startup panel to 1. Also, i remember an older thread with a script command to alter it. Oh, here it is.

That's a lovely look, beautiful drawings and colours. The elegant design is also very much up my street. I'm very much looking forward to seeing the finished thing in motion. Congratulations and good luck!
