Re: RAM usage while exporting

Ah, thanks for the clarification! Project dimension: 2880 x 1620 pixels Length: 123 frames 10 layers of scanned images (PNGs) with Basic scan cleaner used on them Export settings: we are using a script someone on here recommended which exports all the layers of the project into folders and reimports...

RAM usage while exporting

Hi there, I started exporting a scene from TVPaint and was wondering why it seemed to be taking ages, so I opened Activity Monitor to see that TVPaint is only using 1.84 GB or RAM when there is 64 GB installed in the computer. I tried changing the cache settings in preferences from Auto to Manual bu...

Re: Multiply not working in After Effects

Thanks for your replies, but turns out it was an After Effects issue easily fixed by turning the 'collapse transformations' setting on for the composition which made it transparent :)

Multiply not working in After Effects

Hi there, I've exported a scene from TVPaint using the Mads exporter, and then imported into After Effects to be put on top of a background, but some of the layers aren't being affected by the multiply blending mode in After Effects, which is working perfectly fine on TVPaint. The layers that aren't...

Where TVP ends and AfterEffects begins?

Hello TVP land - I have a question about what creative tasks people tend to leave to After Effects. For instance we are doing a scene with many characters. We have put the scene together (scanning in animation done on paper) created mattes and colour all in TVP. There is an over all camera move whic...

Re: Exporting into After Effects

Perfect! Thanks so much! We will have a little play now. In your AE experience is it best to export the images as PNGs and not TIFFs from TVPaint? Aren't Tiffs better quality? Thanks so much for your help :)

Exporting into After Effects

Hello TVPainters. I have a questions about exporting image sequences from TVP into AfterEffects. Is it possible to export all the values that have been used in TVP as well? Ie if a level was set at 80% opacity or multiplied etc. Is the only option to export a movie of each layer? Basically any advic...

Re: feathering an area

Hi Fabrice - I don't at the moment as I'm not by my work. Basically we are scanning drawings into TVP and creating mattes - i.e. creating a solid shape of the character and filling with white. We are drawing around the character to create the matte but because the drawings are so loose, the edge of ...

Re: Calibrating the Cintiq

Thank you so much @slowtiger for all the information. @schwarzgrau thanks that is most interesting and exactly what I needed to hear. After much playing with all the colour settings on the cintiq, I now realise I can only change the screen so much. It is never going to match my Thunderbolt completel...

Re: Calibrating the Cintiq

Well I think the reason it is important for me to get the calibration right is that I am importing scanned drawings into TVPaint and cleaning the drawings. What looks clean on the Cintiq is not clean when I take it onto my Mac monitor. I just want to be sure I can make my Cintiq as true as possible ...

Calibrating the Cintiq

Hello TVPers,

I wonder if anybody out there has advice on how to calibrate the Cintiq. We've twiddled with all of the display settings but still not great. Does anyone use a calibrator like Spyder?

Thanks for your help
