You can download it from the website, however it doesnt run on ae 2019, https://rxlaboratory.org/download-duio/
For export they use Mads AFX export script

I checked the jsx and its obfuscated btw

OCA Open Cel Animation Format (exchange)

Has anyone used OCA to import or export from TVPAINT? Is there a script around perhaps?
https://rxlaboratory.org/tools/oca/

Seems like a great alternative for exchanging files between animation apps.

Re: ChatGPT (A.I.) helps write AE plugin code (wow)

You can feed it the wiki and the command list plus a few examples of working code, then ask gpt to write a test code, sometimes it hits the spot, sometimes it doesn't even run so you have to theck the code manually. Also bing with gpt4 seems more successful at a times.

Re: Procreate Dreams

Bought it to try it but it was disappointing to say the least, there are a few features that come in handy and have the Procreate DNA in it like: - The lasso editing for the timeline and intuitive playback controls, - the drag and throw to play the layer instantly - Zoom management of the timeline w...

Apologies, it's public now for a few hours more (licensing limitations with our distributor in the US).

Re: JSON Export/Import to AE bug in version 11.7 ?

Hello D.T, I did a fix a few years ago (2020) that has been working still without problem for me. I went back to tvp 11 because 11.5 had many issues with the new menus and conventions that I was already used to and were bugging me. First you need to check if the layers are indeed at the json make su...

Re: X-sheet instance functionality for normal animation layers.

This "link" information should remain intact when you duplicate a layer, so that when you make a duplicate layer for coloring you only have to color each unique original drawing, Meanwhile what I do for this is a little script that duplicates the current layer which has the duplicated ins...

Set all layers to Hold|Ping-Pong|None|Repeat

Just did this small script that sets all the layers for the current clip post behavior as none, repeat, ping-pong or hold It has a little window to write the desired post behavior. It will store it as a variable for the next session so you can run it quickly Eg. If I want all layers on the current c...

Re: Canicas (TVPaint + 3ds Max)

Cool, mixing it up with 2's, 3's, and 4's, I love that this approach is finally getting more common after seeing it in anime for decades :) Yeah, actually I worked in Toei Animation Japan (One Piece Z), that's where I began getting the anime influence for the NPR and CG-Anime. It was a great ride a...

Re: Canicas (TVPaint + 3ds Max)

Looks very promising. I like the colours a lot. The underlying 3D is not really visible, which is good, it doesn't stand out, I wonder if that's just because of the reduced frame rate of 12 or 8 per second? That was exactly the idea to blend the 3D use to make it unnoticeable, I'm very happy it wor...

Re: X-sheet instance functionality for normal animation layers.

As I understand it you'd like to use a "pointer" to a specific instance at another position of the timeline. I like this idea !!! we need to discuss it with the team. The "repeat frames" is a different feature as I understand: it would rather clone a set of instances into new in...

Canicas (TVPaint + 3ds Max)

Hello guys, finally I can share the trailer for our short Canicas. I set this as a challenge several years ago to see if we could do something similar to Paperman while mixing it with a traditional 2D background NPR rendering but still get that 2D feeling of the hand-drawn variation in lines and vol...

Re: exporting for finishing of in other software?

You can always write a script that works between apps (as long as they support pixels), you can parse the json that tvpaint exports onto another app importer. We process 3D renders from 3dsmax onto tvpaint via a custom script, then from tvp to AE using the normal TVP exporter.
