Just to let you know, the developers have found the cause of those audio issues and great progress has been made on the fix. We also found that some parts of the code could be responsible for other bugs regarding audio imports: we are working on rewriting them as well.

I have kept using TVPaint and didn't notice anything wrong for the time being. As usual, I would advise to wait anyway, as updating to the latest operating system right away may not be necessary (and because it can break compatibility with other software too).

Did you try to reset your config. as kelanhordes did? I have found that it would solve those playback issues in some cases. Don't forget to export your custom settings before doing so.
