Hello everyone,

We will be conducting maintenance operations on both the website and the forum tomorrow on Wednesday, June 8th.
Maintenance will begin at ~9am CEST and is expected to last until at least 4pm CEST. During that time, the website (including downloads) and forum will be unavailable.

Thank you for your comprehension.

Maintenance is still ongoing.

The Forum should now be usable again (and on an updated version as well!).

I will update this topic once the website will be available.

Due to unforseen circumstances, website maintenance will be expanded until tomorrow.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Aaaaaand maintenance is over, time to unveil our new website!
It's a new era for us, because we not only changed the entire website, but also our hosting provider.

It's not entirely complete yet.
After Annecy, we will change both the Online Doc and forum theme.

Please tell us if you find any broken link, images not loading... :)
Known issues for the moment:
  • Quick links on top of the forum are gone.
  • The FAQ is not translated yet
  • Some links are missing on the FAQ
Also, I'm sorry for this, but it looks like some avatars got lost, you will need to reupload them on your profile.

May I suggest you change that little flag indicating language to UK instead of US? That's kind of standard.

There should be a page with all the technical information: which OS versions are supported, import and export formats etc, bit depth ...

Slowtiger:

Changing the flag from USA to UK was a good suggestion.

Americans may be an unreasonable lot, but at least most of us will admit our language was invented in England... :)

Love the new site. White was a great choice for a background color. It gives the site a very optimistic feeling. It also showcases the
art work very well.

Congratulations on a terrific job!

I think there should be a link to the Forum prominently displayed on the homepage, so people looking for support can easily find the Forum.

The "About TVPaint" page seems a bit sparse with information about the history of the company and the software. It seems worth mentioning the history of the software's development by Herve Adam (starting in 1991) and that the software has been used for multiple productions by both independent animators and studios. (with some examples given). The potential customer would probably be influenced if they had some more detailed information about who is using TVPaint and why they, the potential customer , would also want to use it. There was archival material on the old website (interviews, archived newsletters) that had valuable information. The TVPaint example files from Journey Through Creativity and example files from Paul Johnson's TIE Fighter short film were valuable resources. Will those be restored ?

What about showing what TVPaint can do instead of simply having blocks of text describing features ?

A Demo Reel was produced in 2021. It seems like the demo reel should be front and center on the website. People want to SEE what can be done with the software, not only read about it.

When clicking on the link at the top of the forum to Documentation (User Guide) this is the result:

The result should be to take the user to page 1 of the User Guide Introduction: Getting to know TVPaint Animation :

UPDATE: This issue with the broken links in Contents Sharing seems to have been fixed now! Thank you, Thierry.

Sadly, many links to custom tools posted in the Contents Sharing sub-forum are now dead links. For just one example see this topic and try clicking on the links to download the brushes:
viewtopic.php?t=10006

This is the result:

Screen Shot 2022-06-15 at 9.06.53 AM.jpg (8.37 KiB) Viewed 14144 times

Here's another custom brush set lost: viewtopic.php?t=5198

And these: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=10493&p=99264

And these: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=9435&p=115425#p87274

Gone: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=5160&p=44695

I haven't had time to test all the links of custom brushes in Contents Sharing , but it seems that many custom brushes are now missing.

This is a shame because these fine custom brushes added extra value to TVPaint.

I've fixed this, attachments should be downloadable again, can you check on your side?

Glad to hear it ! Thank you.

Yes, I think all the attachments in the Contents Sharing are available again. I haven't clicked on every post in Contents Sharing, but I clicked through about two dozen posts in Contents Sharing and it seems the .tvpx files are downloadable again.

Are the video tutorials that used to be on the site going to be back up or will there be new ones to replace the website’s video tutorials?
