It tells me the dependencies can't be found, which is odd because they were with the clip before.

Usually if a dependency can not be found it's because the dependency file got moved to another location on the computer. (or the file was renamed)

So for example, if an audio file was formerly on your Desktop , but you moved the audio file to a different location on your computer , TVPaint is going to be looking for the
path to that audio file that was formerly located on the Desktop, but because the file has been moved TVPaint can't locate it.

When you get the error message saying that a dependency can't be found , select another location to search for it on your computer , then when you find it you can reselect the file to reload it into TVPaint (if you can't find the missing sound dependency then that means the file was deleted or the name of the file was changed.)

---------

As a rule I try to keep all my source files (dependencies) in the same folder with the .tvpp project file so it doesn't have any trouble locating it.

I have one master folder on my hard drive in the Documents folder named TVPaint Projects.

Each TVPaint Project has separate folder .png

Inside of the TVPaint Projects folder there are all my various TVPaint projects , each within it's own scene folder.
All of the source files (dependencies) , including audio files , are stored in that same scene folder.

Source Files reside in same folder as TVPaint project.png

These source files are never moved outside of the TVPaint project folder, so the path to those dependencies may always be found by TVPaint.

Also , you have the option under the Project Menu > Dependencies to Embed audio dependencies. If you choose Embed audio dependencies then the audio file(s) should be embedded within the project file. This should prevent any audio file dependencies from being lost.

Hello. It's two years later and I'm starting a new film, and I can't believe I'm running into the same snag. I have my animatic split into clips, and I'm clicking on "clips to projects" button in my handy window, but it wants to convert all of the clips ( over a hundred) at once, and the computer is wigging out. When I click on project all of the clips appear to be joined. Did I do something wrong setting it up? and the clips are not showing up anywhere again.

Hello JoeMurray, are you using the latest TVPaint version (11.7.2)?

It's 11 pro that's all it said. I got it at the end of 2021

I'm sorry, 11.5.2. is what it says. Is there a difference in the new upgrade?

A number of bugs has been solved between these versions, so installing a v11.7.2 in parallel of your current version would allow you to test if the behavior is still problematic.

Does it cost for an upgrade? I found a way to do it last time, but I can't find on the old posts how I was helped to do it.

"Minor" version updates are free and can be downloaded from "My software" section of your user account.

I downloaded the update but my computer wouldn't install it because the OS is not high enough. My 2013 powermac can't handle any more upgrades. Is there any solution with the one I have? I did it last time.

I don't think yours is a Powermac, they were discntinued in 2006. Do you mean Mac Pro? If so, a 2013 Mac Pro should run OS 10.15, which will support TVP 11.7.0 at lest.

Yes you are right. It's a Mac Pro running Sierra running 10.12.6. But it's not letting me upgrade to 10.15

I will send you a v11.7.0 installer via PM so you can conduct some tests

ah, I think I can guess why you can't get any newer Mac OS: it's complaining abut not finding a certain class of graphic card. Had that as well. In the end I bit the apple (and took the money) to buy me a brand new Mac Mini M2pro last week.
