cannot put down a brush with one click while in Stroke....ghost bug from the past

For some reason i cannot put down a brush with one click while in Stroke.
i can 'click drag the brush' and you can put it down in " One point Dot" or "Dot" but not in stroke!?

The weirdest thing. i could only find this reference to it, from 2009 when it was fixed by Hervé
now it turns up on one of our Linux machines

what makes it particularly strange is that it is only one of 18 machines that does this...!?

several times reported now, ... and already fixed by Hervé (Wed Sep 16, 2009) :

with a custombrush, attempting to apply (paste) it by a single LMB-click
with freehand Stroke tool doesn't paste the brush anymore, ... until a mouse drag .
previously, I always cut and pasted custombrushes in freehand mode without any problem.
The spline interpolation at the beginning of the stroke is better with this version, but it draws nothing if the position doesn't change.
OK, Fixed.

Did you check "Line Smoothing"?
Depending on the options you set, it may be impossible to make a "one click stamp".

thankx mox.
good suggestion.
But today the problem didn't occur on that machine, and switching the line smoothing on/off didn't make a difference.
weird... one of those things...
