[Bug] FX: Motion Keyframer pivot issues after latest update.

Post by Thomas Bruinsma »

After the latest update I noticed that you can now click and drag the pivot point to the place you want to, instead of having to manually change the values of the pivot, and then substracting the values to the position values (or using the custom brush method)

While this is a very welcome change, it doesn't work properly yet. Mainly with the Size and the Z-axis position parameter, which still seems to use the centre of the frame as a pivot point. Because of the changes, it now also impossible to move the pivot to a place you want to, as the movable pivot seems to only work for rotations. I have added a bug tag to this post, because I can't imagine this is intended behavior. I have also added screenshots for your convenience and clarity.

Does anyone have a workaround? And is this in the roadmap for getting fixed?

Has anyone been able to replicate this issue, and found a possible fix? The FX Keyframer is unusable at this point, since I can't adjust size and Z-axis properly anymore.

Hoi Thomas!

I can confirm this,
for rotation and position the keyframer does use the offset pivot coordinates,
but when you scale, it does so from the original position coordinates, which is not intuitive/desired.

ran into it again today...
the new pivot is not yet functioning correctly

see explanation in image.

And i found another related bug related to this.
The fx stack does not refresh.
if you use a custombrush as your source and you change the active custombrush (for instance by picking another from the tool history, or by picking up a new one)
while the FX is active the, complete UI disapears! and it seems as if the Fxstack is switched off
only after actually switching the fxstack off and then back on does it appear again, now with the new custombrush.

Hee Peter!

Always good seeing you here.

I'll contact TVPaint today and send them this thread. You did seem to stumble upon another issue. The Keyframer/FX Stack could use some attention it seems!

Hello everybody. I reworked the pivot point of the keyframer so it keeps its position when you modify the Z coordinate. I also reworked the way the scale is applied so it will be always applied from the pivot point. The update will be available in the next release.
