hello eric

as i'm french as you, i go make an english and french answer

hello eric. at first thanx to you. so then when i do "apper tvpaint.rpm" with the rpm renamed for simplicity, i go have a error but not any information about.
it is strange because most of times i have a error message when i try to install other software but not this time

Hi,

Thanks for answering in both language, I think it's better to continue in English so future users which has the same problem will be able to find the solution.

Anyway, I cannot be of any help if the only answer I get is that there is an error whithout any further informations.
So here is some questions :

- Did you try to launch the installation by double-clicking on the installer instead of launching it from the terminal ?
- Can you post a screenshot of the error (even if there no information, a visual can be really helpfull sometimes) ?
- You said you had the same problem with other packets, what kind of packets ?
- Can you confirm you're installing a 64 bits version of TVPaint Animation 11 ?

Hello,

could you try to run in a terminal :
zypper install TVpaint.rpm

It should tell you that there is a dependence problem with libX11 and it should ask to choose between 3 solutions (abort, cancel or continue and ignore the dependence problem). Check with zypper (or another package manager) that a version of libX11 is installed (ie: zypper search libX11 in a terminal). Then choose the solution which ignores the dependencies issue. TVPaint will be installed and it should work without problem.

If you have a problem with these commands, please copy-paste the result in your response :)

Hi,

Yes, "zypper search" doesn't make install, it's just to search package :)
So the first screenshot shows what libX11-6 is installed (the left column "S" is for "Status", a "i" means "installed").

It's another problem when yun ran "zypper install" : it doesn't found the file. I think zypper doens't like "é" in the path. You should just do :

Code: Select all

cd /home/steff/Téléchargements/tvpaint-rpm
zypper install tvpaint.rpm
(I guess that the .rpm is there)

If it's doesn't work with "zypper install tvpaint.rpm" (with the same error as before ?), then are your sure that tvpaint.rpm exist and is in that folder?

Code: Select all

ls -l /home/steff/Téléchargements/tvpaint-rpm/
Please, paste the result of the commands :)

The result I got here:
