How to copy and paste properly?

Post by Yochay »

Hi,

This might seem a ridiculous question, but I couldn't solve it. I want to copy and paste a drawing onto another existing frame, but when I paste it, it doesn't get pasted on the existing frame, but rather on a new separate frame. How do I paste in on the frame I want? Thanks :)

See: https://www.tvpaint.com/doc/tvp11/index ... side-layer

Select an image, then click and drag the image to the frame you want to copy it to , release it. There are three different modes you can choose from as you release the image:
Copy , Insert , Move . Each behaves slightly different. (see the links to the User Manual above and also see the video below).

You may also use this click & drag technique to copy or insert images from one layer to another layer.

Using INSERT will add the selected frames to the existing timeline , thereby extending the layer length.

Using COPY will have the selected frames overwrite the existing frames on the timeline , and the layer length will stay the same.

I always just mark the frame, press CTRL+C, mark another frame and press CTRL+V, while the method David mentions is surely superior I thought I should mention it too
