Re: Performance
RamDisk sounds interesting. Never heard of it before. I'll google it. Would this affect final output render time? Anything that is processor-dependent will not directly benefit from RamDisk, but the fact that you are offloading disk tasks from the CPU (because you'll be reading straight from the RA...

Re: Performance
I've noticed that After Effects does rapidly faster renders than TVpaint. which After Effects version is that? In CS5 AE became all x64, which makes for faster overall work. The best rendering improvements come from tweaking the preview settings, as Eric pointed. I usually set it for background pro...

Re: Layer settings for output
Could you show examples ? ¬_¬ Elodie, there's nothing much to show. The idea of this feature is layer-state snaphot. you some layers on and some off. you make a snapshot - an entry "snapshot 1" added to the snaphot panel. you then turn off some layers, and some you turn on. Make another s...

Re: Layer settings for output
Yeah, exactly like layer comps. That's it. And if you could even implement it in the render tab, so you could automatically set it to render out the three different Layer Comps without having to manually start each new one. I'll post it in the feature requests if it proves no one knows a proper way...

Re: Layer settings for output
I reckon this isn't possible, but I would love it if you could save an instance of your layers' on and off settings for rendering. Say, you have a project with 20 layers: Notes, Line, Basecolor, Shading, Background etc. and you need to output three different renders of certain layers switched on an...

open specific file
What would be a script line to open a specific tvpp file?
(as in, making an action that'll bring up a particular file)

You installed it in safe mode?
you mean you didn't try to run it in a regular mode?

No need to make a button.
The shortcut is there. It's called Preview: play from current image

Re: cornfield test
good effort. I like it.
It is right, because it is evocative of a grassy field, rather than descriptive.
it could do with a few more frames, to smooth out the little skip you have in the end of each loop, but even in it's current state it is quite successful.

Re: Couleurs
It's made with good skill, it's edited well and its rhythm keeps you hooked. And often here exactly lies the problem. Personally I can't stand animation that shows a brush or a hand painting into the picture. It indicates on the superficial level at which the creators are perceiving animation. It's ...

Yes, this video with the rabbit animated "on paper" is curious. I'm going to ask Hans Jorgen Sandnes if it's a "montage" or if they finally animated on paper =) I'll keep you posted ^^ If they did do it on paper, they still composited the digital lines over a fake paper flicker....

Re: A Layer View Panel
A few years ago Mark (forum name: Lemec) developed a panel called "Layer companion". It basically minimized the footprint of your layer panel, granting access to all its basics. It's no longer available as his website is not online. But you can PM him and ask if he still has it, and if it'...
