You can also reverse the *keys* before rendering.
In case you have other effects like motion blur, they will still be correct this way.

Re: Apple discarding support of older MacOSX versions ?
Although some things I'm reading say there is no true fix other than to remove the existing chips from the computer and replace them with new chips that Intel guarantees are not afflicted with the current vulnerability. That's sadly the truth... While Apple (or MS, or Linux devs) can use some (slow...

Re: Multi-core usage
At least get bigger SIMMs so there are still slots free to upgrade memory later.
Get 2x8GB instead of 4x4GB if you can only afford 16GB right now.

Re: Multi-core usage
TVPaint makes good usage of the cores. But there are tasks where other resources are the limiting factors (like memory speed or disk I/O,or user even input). When applying FXs, my 12 cores Xeons tops at 24 threads fully used (2400% CPU usage :) ). When drawing, unless using 1000+ pixels brushes, the...

Re: Pixel Art
Cut the whole project with the "cut brush" tool.
Then edit the brush, set the size to whatever you want, set "AAliasing" to "None".
Then in the export panel, at the very top, choose to export the "Custom Brush".

Re: Improved movie preloading
Depends on what you'll do with the imported frames.
- JPEG is lossy (even at 100% quality !), good for reference material that won't show up in the final product, because it's smaller than PNGs.
- PNG in non-lossy, better for material that WILL show up in the final product.

Re: Improved movie preloading
TVPaint only works with uncompressed data (unless you DON'T preload, but that has it's own quirks) Importing 90s of 1080p @ 30fps will use : 90*30 = 2700 frames * 8Mb/frame = 21Gb of RAM... Flushing this to the tmp file is what slows you down the most. Is the tmp file on a really fast HDD/SSD, and i...

Re: Disney's Meander software
The motion field is generated by the 3D software, almost for free... really nothing here...
Much more harder to generate from 2D imagery (being it live action or drawn).
