Hullabaloo - Animated steampunk adventure film in the works
Not sure if you heard of this, but Hullabaloo is a 2d hand drawn film that's being made by former Disney animators. It was already funded on Indiegogo and is still in development. Here's the website for it, and a few videos. http://www.hullabaloo-movie.com/ ENnKfis_eB4 NZG8YenEaDs aoQaLY7M13s

I really wish animation would be treated the same as live action in the US
Anyone else feel that animation in the US is really dumbed down compared to the rest of the world? It's for two reasons. 1. 95% of the time it's either child friendly stuff or adult comedies, there's almost never a middle ground compared to other places like Japan. 2. There's been a real lack of han...

This is a new series being made by the creator of the webcomic Zoophobia and the Die Young animation. Like Die Young, this is also animated with TVPaint. From what I hear it's being picked up by Amazon Prime, so hopefully it'll get far.

This looks absolutely spectacular. I just hope we'll see more 2d films in theaters after this.

Re: This Does Not Look Like Toon Boom Harmony To Me - What Do You Suppose It Is?
Harmony does have very good bitmap drawing capabilities, too. It also has vector brushes that look like pencils, chalks, paintbrushes, etc. Harmony 17, which was just released, has a new drawing engine which is much smoother and more natural to draw in than previous versions by the way. It feels as...

Re: This Does Not Look Like Toon Boom Harmony To Me - What Do You Suppose It Is?
My guess is that despite being colored in Harmony, the actual animation was done in TVPaint. Harmony's frame by frame is mainly vector based, so you don't get the same results with vector drawing as you do with raster drawings. No guessing is required. I have several friends who are working on thes...

Re: Adobe Voco: The digital solution to voice actors?
I see. Still though, it would be nice to have a program that can not just be used as a substitute for live voice actors, but also be very efficient at it. It doesn't have to replace voice actors entirely, it can just be a tool used for people who either can't afford to hire voice actors or just use ...

Adobe Voco: The digital solution to voice actors?
I3l4XLZ59iw This looks like a very interesting piece of software. It basically takes samples of people's voices and lets you make your own speeches with their voice. However, you need a 20 minute long sample to be able to use their voice. This could be a great alternative to real voice actors if it...

https://www.awn.com/animationworld/new-dreamworks-shorts-program-birds-and-marsupials The studio had to create a pipeline for the short because it no longer had one for 2D animation, says Hermann. Re: Compatability with Toon Boom products
Well, that is an interesting request. If I wanted to be cynical, I would say: Why aren't you posting on Toomboon forums that it would be nice if the next TB version would be able to fully integrate TVPaint Animation ? How would you expect TB to react ? On a more serious note, the likelihood of some...

Compatability with Toon Boom products
Would be nice for the next version of TVPaint be able to fully integrate with Toon Boom Harmony and Storyboard Pro. For animation, animators could use the rich drawing tools of TVP, along with the high end features and professional look of Harmony together. For storyboarding, TVP's animatic tools co...
