Re: Software you use

I use a lot of different programs at my job and for personal work. This list is incomplete but it represents the programs I use most routinely... Workplace - Adobe Animate and TB Harmony for FBF animation (TVPaint is used elsewhere at my workplace, just not in our dept.) - Moho Pro for rigged puppet...

Re: Can you Re-Install Tv paint into another Computer ?

Yes, you can. As a matter of fact, I keep TV Paint installed on multiple computers (laptop, workstation, tablet,) and I move the dongle to where I want to use TV Paint.

The dongle is essentially a key to unlock the software wherever it's installed...so keep it safe and don't lose it! :)

Re: Compatability with Toon Boom products

As an artist who works at a studio that uses many different animation packages, I really don't find the OP's request so unreasonable. That said, as a user of many different software packages, there are some common output and motion formats with each program that can be shared with other programs, so...

Re: Import Video into TVPaint , audio does not import

I ran into the same problem back in September 2018. Here's the thread on the topic:

viewtopic.php?f=21&t=12049

Importing as a Clip sort of solves the problem for me but with some inconveniences.

Hopefully they're still working to fix this issue.

Re: Farewell !

This is my very last post on the forum...After 9 years of commitment toward TVPaint Développement, my job in the company is officially over. My contract with the company ended 2 days ago on my 30th birthday, that's something ! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯...Thank you all and keep doing great animations ! ❤ I'm very s...

Re: tv paint demo. Everything looks so small

Ok, I'm back and here are the results: http://i63.tinypic.com/27yu2k5.jpg After trying the different methods, I can't say I see a lot of functional differences between them, but I'm going to switch to TVPaint's built-in scaling for my laptop with the 4k screen because it's simpler and more correct. ...

Re: tv paint demo. Everything looks so small

Okay, now you got me wanting to revisit this. :) It's been many months since I did this for my laptop but I believe you're correct. I probably went the way I did to make the pixels more visible since 4k on a 17-screen gives you very tiny pixels. If my screen was physically bigger, I might feel diffe...

Re: tv paint demo. Everything looks so small

There is an option in TVPaint's Preferences that multiplies the UI size--try dialing it up to 2. Since that seems easiest, I would try it first. If that doesn't do what you need, reset the multiplier to 1 and try the following procedure. Assuming you're running TVPaint on Windows 10 , do this: First...

Re: Newly Installed and Very Zoomed out on Windows

If that doesn't work for you, I have different instructions you can try for Windows 10. First, right-click on the program icon and open its properties panel. You can do this on a shortcut. Click the Compatibility tab and click Change High DPI Settings. In the window that pops up, enable Override Hig...

Re: new Pixar short - "Kitbull" animated with TVPaint

Yes but if the padding is equally thick around the stylus, a deep slot may defeat the ergonomic reason for doing this. You could try it but I imagine it won't be very comfortable. I believe this is why users doing this are using the keyboard for buttons. The commercial one in the link works around t...

Re: new Pixar short - "Kitbull" animated with TVPaint

I wondered about this when I watched the videos last week. There are a few articles online about how having a 'fat' grip is more ergonomic because it shifts the tension to the hand muscles, putting less strain on the fingers. The only problem with using a foam wrap on a digital stylus is that it blo...

Re: Krita vs Tvpaint Which is better for digtal painting and backgrounds

I don't understand the issue...you should paint in whichever program or medium your most comfortable in. You can import background images created in other programs, or scan or photograph practical art, so it really doesn't matter much where you create them. TVPaint has a lot of very nice tools and i...

Re: grey area on top of main panel

Oh, look! A question I can answer. :D That's the Timeline Notes preview display. It corresponds to the timeline notes layer. When you write or draw notes there, it scrolls across the screen at the top. Normally, it should only show during playback when you enable it from the Notes layer (Display Dur...
